When’s the last time you dozed off midday, only to regain consciousness drifting aimlessly amongst the cosmos? It’s an experience best described as ‘celestial outer space’, and made audible in Circuit des Yeux’s new album “In Plain Speech”. The Chicago-based artist, whose real name is Haley Fohr, has gathered wide acclaim over the record, released on May 19th of last year. NPR Music writes, “Haley Fohr’s resonant baritone can make you tremble one moment and weep the next.”
Pittsburgh is just one stop on an extensive US tour with experimental pop artist Julia Holter, who will be opening the show. Some other stops include the Pitchfork Music Festival in July with artists such as Brian Wilson and Holly Herndon, and the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville with artists such as Sunn O))), Angel Olsen, Yo La Tengo, Kamasi Washington, and Wolf Eyes. You can catch Circuit des Yeux and Julia Holter live on Saturday, February 27th at Club Cafe if you were lucky enough to snatch some tickets, otherwise they are sold out!
