I was highly impressed by all of the bands tonight for the Gene the Werewolf’s CD release party. Really, really awesome lineup! The first openers were the Pittsburgh band Milly, who is a new project containing Seth Milberger and Johnny Grushecky. These two are no strangers to the stage, as they have been in the other bands such as The Composure and The I Drive. Milly’s debut album is set to release sometime this year.

Next was the band Walkney, from Altoona, PA. I loved their energy as well. Walkney filled in this date to Gene The Werewolf, as Walkney is currently on the Sleepless Summer Tour with The Millennium, Time Atlas and Royal Street.

Then there was Gene The Werewolf! I was so blown away by the energy, the crowd was so into the show as well! Gene The Werewolf has been active since 2007, and tonight was the CD release party for their fourth album “The Loner.” They play good old rock and roll, and have a hell of a lot of fun with it. Guitarist Drew Donegan gets a point for awesome stage presence as well. Best of luck to all the bands tonight.
