André Costello and the Cool Minors just dropped a new track last week during an appearance on the Morning Coffeehouse with Randy Baumann and the DVE Morning Show. The guys have been dabbling with the song “Broken Nose,” at live performances including Sofar Sounds Pittsburgh, at Runaway Studios, but this is the first time it has been heard by the masses. Costello depicts the song as being loosely based on his brother, who he describes as a “scrapper” growing up. The jam chronicles bar fights, busted lips and broken noses in a chic kind of way.
André Costello and the Cool Minors are not even a year removed from their full length album, The Rattling Arcade, but it is always a pleasure to hear new tunes from this trio. You can catch them in action June 12th at South Park Amphitheater with Weather Report for free or André Costello solo at Hartwood Acres June 14th as part of Randy Baumann’s Hartwood Ramble. Check out “Broken Nose,” below.
