Pittsburgh band Household Stories will be playing Club Café this Saturday with Sea Rights and The Red Western. Household Stories will be releasing their 3rd EP called NO. 3, which includes four new tracks. The show begins at 7pm and tickets are only $8! It’s a 21 and over show.
Here is their biography from facebook
Household Stories came to life in the early months of 2011, when friends Jon Majiros (vocals, acoustic guitar), Matt Zeoli (guitar, vocals), and Frank Hebda (drums) began writing and recording together in the outskirts of Pittsburgh. Born of punk pedigree and leaning liberally into a 90’s indie rock aesthetic, the band draws easy comparisons to Weezer, Deathcab, and Built to Spill. It is a sound that is immediately familiar without being derivative, emphasizing sparse, no-nonsense arrangements and thoughtful, melodic lyricism.
Through constant gigging and the release of a series of well-received EP’s, the band has found themselves at the forefront of the Pittsburgh independent music scene, garnering the adoration of the press and regularly topping local year-end charts. They have shared the stage with some of their favorite national acts, including Said The Whale, Margot & The Nuclear So-and-So’s, Drowning Men, X Ambassadors, Spring Standards, River City Extension, and more.
With the addition of bassist John Perry and vocalist Lianna Ankney, 2013 found the band expanding their sound concurrently with the development of new depth and nuance in their songwriting. Household Stories is currently gearing up for the release of their new surf-tinged single “North By Northwest”, to coincide with continued regional touring throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
