Friday night, the Pittsburgh Winery was sold out and the place was packed with folks who enjoyed an evening full of energetic, upbeat music and fine wine.
The Vindy’s, a group out of Youngstown, OH, opened up the night with their eclectic collection of pop rock tunes with a touch of jazz. Appreciating and identifying with music in general, as opposed to a specific genre, they were able to play over an hour with sounds that appeal to everyone. While playing almost entirely originals with tons of energy and excitement, their cover of The Doors “Light My Fire” slowed down a bit and their personal touch to the song couldn’t have been better.
After a quick break to grab another glass of vino, Jude Benedict took the stage with his band, The Last Drop. They kept the cellar full of life with song after song that made you want to get up a dance all night…and some folks did just that! Jude Benedict and the Last Drop played for about an hour, showcasing their brand new and their first ever EP, “Check It In The Morning,” among other jazz/funk songs that kept us all hoping for more. If you missed this incredible evening, or if you just can’t get enough of JBLD, you can catch them next at Mr. Smalls Funhouse Stage on June 17th.
