Pittsburgh is home to many import musicians who moved to the city from other walks of life, weather it be for school or work purposes or our burgeoning music scene. We’ve also lost our fair share of talent to larger music scenes, more opportunity and the chance at stardom. The Pittsburgh music scene has always welcomed new talent and will always consider talent that leaves the nest, Pittsburghers for life. Kevin Garrett is one of those talented musicians that moved on from his hometown for a shot at making it in New York City.
Garrett is fresh off a set at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, TN where Entertainment Weekly named Garrett 1 of 17 non headlining acts you have to see at the fest. Garrett’s debut EP was released April 7 called Mellow Drama. It has produced the singles “Coloring,” and “Control,” which has a new music video out today. Garrett’s vocals are truly hypnotizing. If you are a fan of Bon Iver you will definitely understand. Check out the music video below and be sure to catch Kevin Garrett at Pittsburgh Winery Saturday, June 27.
