Lucero is no stranger to Mr. Smalls Theater having played there the previous 4 years. Playing a venue of its size doesn’t happen over night though. The Memphis, TN band is cut from a similar cloth as any other band trying to make it through the ranks. And just like many local Pittsburgh bands, Lucero paid their dues playing a show at Belvedere’s in 2008. Lucero has been known to tour more days through out the year than not.

With constant touring comes plenty of new music and Lucero is no exception with 11 full length albums and 3 live albums. The most recent being “All A Man Should Do,” which received pretty high praise in 2015. Memorable songs from the album include “My Girl and Me in ’93” and “Went Looking For Warren Zevon in Los Angeles.”

Aside from their great music, Lucero can make a large space feel intimate during live performances with their on stage crowd engagement. The band fronted by Ben Nichols will grace the Mr. Smalls stage once again, October 24 at 8pm with Cory Branan. Tickets are only $22 and can be purchase at the box office or online at ticketweb.
