The band formed in 1996 by frontman Kevin Barnes, who has been the only constant member over the years.
Today of Montreal is a band of 6 and has seen 17 other members come through the pipeline.
Of Montreal is touring in support of their latest effort, White Is Relic/Irrealis Mood, released March 9.
Barnes tries to mix things up on this album with an 80s era style extended dance mix. Each of the 6 tracks clock in at over 5 minutes.
Of Montreal have played Pittsburgh on numerous occasions including at the Andy Warhol Musieum and William Pitt Union in 2005, Mattress Factory in 2006 with Black Moth Super Rainbow, the Ches-A-rena in 2010, Altar Bar in 2012 and Mr. Smalls in 2015.
They’ll be back in town March 25 for a show at Mr. Smalls Theatre with Mega Bog and Pittsburgh’s very own Delicious Pastries. Doors open at 7pm and the show begins at 8pm. You can get tickets for $20 HERE or win a pair from us.
