A new concert series has kicked off in Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh’s Very Own series, produced by Opus One productions, features select local acts in Pittsburgh. The series is a quarterly event with the first show taking place at Mr. Small’s theater in Millvale on February 3rd. The show featured five bands: As Ladders, Some Kind of Animal, Aris Paul, Bindley Hardware Co., and Northern Gold.
Northern Gold kicked off the night with a simple and solid performance before handing the stage off to Bindley Hardware Co. Jon Bindley and his band played a mix of “Rust Belt Americana” and then yielded the stage to musician Aris Paul. Aris perhaps personified American music with a camouflage bandanna and a Triumph motorcycle t-shirt.
Some Kind of Animal and As Ladders finished out the night with again, enjoyable rock performances. As stated, the Pittsburgh’s Very Own series is a quarterly event. I recommend you check out the next event.
