Living legend comes to mind when hearing the name Stanley “Buckwheat” Dural Jr. He is a superstar in his home state of Louisiana as the front man of Buckwheat Zydeco. Zydeco is a fast paced, up tempo, accordion driven, dance music with r&b, jazz and blues influences, created in Louisiana by French Creoles.
Buckwheat’s band equipped with horns, washboard, drum, guitar and of course accordion made an appearance at Three Rivers Arts Festival in 2011 and most recently at South Park Amphitheater for a free show last summer. The Grammy Award winner was hand picked to perform at the final, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show. Buckwheat Zydeco returns this Friday at Club Café. Doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm.
