Mr. Smalls Theatre
August 19, 2017
It will not be long before the little band from Lititz, PA is headlining Stage AE. They graced the stage with Dr. Dog two years in a row, steadily gaining popularity in the city. Just last December and in 2015 the guys sold out Club Cafe. This time they are setting their sights on the much larger Mr. Small Theatre. Rob Grote, Connor Jacobus, Braden Lawrence and Pat Cassidy have been releasing music consistently since 2011 with 3 EP’s and now their third full length album. Popular Manipulations was their latest release has set the bar very high, producing “Why Would I Want To Be” and “Salt.”
In a recent interview with Atwood Magazine online, Rob Grote talks about the evolution of the bands sound stating, “Our first album we were like 15 and 16 years old. We didn’t really expect to have anyone care about it. We were just trying to play shows to 20 kids in our town. I feel like a lot of times the group of people changed sooner than ours did and the name changes. I feel like a lot of bands where we’re at now probably have all of the stuff that people have heard from us before but somewhere in the past. I guess it’s a unique situation that our whole process of figuring it out until now is documented in one place.”
The Districts will be performing Saturday at Mr. Smalls Theatre with Sam Evian and Soccer Mommy. Doors open at 7pm and show starts at 8pm for this all ages show. Tickets can be purchased at TicketWeb for $17.
