The Me Toos and The Spectres Pair Up for Split 45 Single Release Show

By Katie Drozynski

There’s something special about a 45. It’s a fun-sized record. Listeners get a quick taste of what a band can do and the musicians have one shot to entice their audience to bite off a bit more. The deal is even sweeter when you get two bands for the price of one with a split 45. It’s like a sonic sampler.

The Me Toos and The Spectres have teamed up for a 45 that promises to be double helping of Pittsburgh rock. The bands are celebrating the single’s release with a party at the James Street Gastropub and Speakeasy on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. Limited-edition vinyl copies of the single will be available and the bands, along with The Park Plan, are poised to rock the Ballroom all night long (or at least until 12:30, when the party is over).

Get a taste of what Pittsburgh rock has to offer and snag a limited-release old school 45 to whet your appetite for a king-sized LP. Tickets are $7 in advance or at the door. Click here for more details.
