This Summer, Wild Kindness Records Brings Local Music Residency to Scratch Food & Beverage

Spring has finally sprung in Pittsburgh. Temperatures are approaching eighty degrees, and flowers and trees have burst to life in every yard, hillside, and street corner. But it’s not just the greenery that’s making a comeback—we’re heading into prime concert season. And Misra label offshoot Wild Kindness Records is kicking it off with a weekly local music residency at Scratch Food and Beverage in Troy Hill.

Every Saturday night, from May 5th through August 25th, you’ll be able to catch a show from a rotating cast of local Misra and Wild Kindness artists: Dinosoul, BBGuns, Rave Ami, and more. These occasionally-stripped-down sets will offer a more intimate vibe than your standard loud, crowded venue. Each show begins at 9:30 PM and will last until 1 AM. The long set times will give you a chance make a night of it, or stop by between your other weekend plans for a drink or a quick bite.

And, oh yeah…they’re all free.

On Scratch’s website, they describe their menu as being “designed to highlight the bounty of the region and the talents of our kitchen and bar staff.” Hosting a local music residency here, then, makes sense. Wild Kindness and Misra have comparable goals for their stacked roster of Pittsburgh artists, and for our music community in general. With seventeen chances to catch a show, it’s never been easier to support your local scene without putting a large dent in your wallet.

The schedule is copied below. Scratch is located in Troy Hill on the North Side, at 1720 Lowrie Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. You can find more info, including hours and menu, on their website. And you can keep up with the residency on its Facebook event page.
