So we all say we wouldn’t mind catching the opening band, but something always seems to get in the way. Pre-gaming in the parking lot, stuck in Parkway West traffic or just simply not knowing anything about the band to make the effort. Well, one you definitely don’t want to miss is Turn to Crime opening for a sold out Modest Mouse show Monday, April 20 at 7 pm.

Turn to Crime is a Detroit based trio featuring Derek Stanton, formerly of the band Awesome Color, Ian Saylor and Dorian Foerg. They are touring in support of their April 28 release “Actions,” on Stanton’s Mugg & Bopp record label and their follow up to 2014’s “Can’t Love.”

“Actions” the title track, is an ode to the city these guys call home. It’s a laid back tune about the laid back people who claim this town is bringing them down. Stanton sings “All that fucked up shit going on in Detroit…” Actions speak louder than words.
