Pittsburgh Blues Revival, BB King Tribute, Tonight

Tonight is the kickoff to Pittsburgh’s annual Blues Festival at Hartwood Acres. Featured acts will include the  Stevee Wellons Band, Billy Price, Dana Fuchs and the Duke Robillard Band. A special performance will take place at 6pm called the Pittsburgh Blues Revival, a special BB King tribute featuring local guitarist Nathan Zoob and a star studded supporting cast of Billy Price, Clinton Clegg, Markila Brown, Melinda Colaizi, Jimbo Jackson, Chester Vincent, Bronwyn Higgins, Guy Russo, Brandon Lehman, Shawn McGregor, Dave Busch, Kyle Lawson, Ben Clifton, Skip Sanders, Elyse Louise, Ryan Booth, Nate Insko, Mike Minda and others.

When asked who is your favorite Music/Blues Artist, in an interview by the Greater Pittsburgh Community Foodbank, Zoob naturally replied, “I would have to say, now as forever, BB King. Just relearning the intro to The Thrill Is Gone I’m reminded of how vocal his playing was. Often imitated but impossible to replicate.”

This is a must see event, sure to kickstart the weekend of great blues music. Tonight’s event is free with a bag of non-perishable grocery items to donate to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. To see ticket prices for Saturday and Sunday visit http://www.pghblues.com.
