Grammy nominated Taj Weekes and Adowa are in town Tuesday night for an intimate night of Reggae splendor. The St. Lucia group consists of Weekes and his backing band Adowa named after the Ethiopian battle of Adowa of 1896.
Weekes is not only known for his roots music but his humanitarian efforts. He is known as the United Nations, “UNICEF Champion for Children.” He also has his own children’s charity, “They Often Cry Outreach.”
Weekes has 5 acclaimed albums to his name including his most recent “Love Herb & Reggae,” featuring thought provoking lyrics about important issues in today’s world.He is known as a poet and one listen to this album will certainly help you understand why.

Taj Weekes will be at Club Cafe Tuesday, May 30 with special guest Truth and Rites. The 21+ show starts at 8pm with doors at 7. You can get tickets at TicketWeb for $10.
