The Growlers are comprised of singer Brooks Nielsen, lead guitarist Matt Taylor and keyboard player/guitarist Kyle Straka currently based out of Costa Mesa, CA. Not many bands can stake claim to forming their own genre, but these guys have. It’s called “Beach Goth” which blends surf, pop, country and rock sounds. They have even organized an annual Beach Goth festival since 2012.
Growlers have 3 ep’s and 5 albums to their credit with the most recent being “City Club” released in 2016. So it’s quite surprising that The Growlers only recent Pittsburgh dates were October 14, 2012 at the Thunderbird Cafe and Club Cafe a couple weeks prior! They also played at Garfield Artworks in 2011 and 2010.
The Growlers will be at Mr. Smalls Theatre Tuesday, October 3, 2017. Doors for the all ages show open at 7:30 and music will get underway at 8:30 with Delicate Steve. Tickets are $20-$25 and can be purchased here http://shrsl.com/k93a, or win a pair from us!
