Warpaint has travelled the world circled Pittsburgh numerous times, playing Cleveland, Columbus, Philadelphia and even Buffalo. The female quartet though, had never made it to the steel city. The long over due wait will happen Thursday night at Mr. Smalls Theater.
The California based band consists of Emily Kokal and Theresa Wayman both on guitar and vocals, Jenny Lee Lindberg on bass and vocals, and Stella Mozgawa on drums. The band has stayed in tact mostly since 2004 with the exception of their revolving door on drums before adding Mozgawa in 2009.

Touring in support of their latest release “Heads Up,” from September 2016, their third studio album was critically acclaimed. The first single from the album, “New Song” showed a different side to the band with a more funky electronic feel. Sticking to their groovy style their 2nd single “White Out,” was slowed down considerably.
Jessica Lea Mayfield will open the show starting at 8pm with the doors at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance at TicketWeb for $22 or at the box office.
