Twin Peaks are bringing their stoner garage punk to Mr. Roboto Project this Friday. The Chicago quartet have been grinding out the summer headlining shows and playing festivals like Pitchfork to rave reviews. Twin Peaks is led by Cadien Lake James on vocals and guitars, bassist Jack Dolan, guitarist Clay Frankel and drummer Connor Brodner.

Twin Peaks have been labeled the band to watch, for a while now. With their new release, Wild Onion, it’s no secret why. These care free dudes from Chicago, seem as if they feel no pressure with the label of, “the band that will save rock and roll.” The group is building off their successful debut album, Sunken.

Their fast paced garage punk is reminiscent of the Ramones. Their songs rarely break 3 minutes so don’t expect to be bored with these guys. Their songs are about having fun, drinking and smoking. You won’t be hearing them sing about politics though; “I know that’s important and all, but that’s not what I want to focus on with my music. I just want to make people shake their butts and shake their heads and have a good time,” says Caiden Lake James in an interview with the website Noisey. What you should expect is a brilliant live performance.

These boys may not be the next billionaires like fellow college dropouts Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, but they do have a chance good chance to save rock and roll. Twin Peaks will be supported by by The Lemons and local Pittsburgh band, Dumplings.
