Local musician Jeremy Caywood has been quietly hosting Sunday brunch at Hambone’s in Lawrenceville for 22 weeks straight now. The menu specials and bands change, but the atmosphere stays the same. For the December 20th brunch, Cawood has put together a special holiday themed event luring 16 impressive musicians to play holiday favorites mixed in with some original tunes.
He has a pretty solid structure in place with the organization of the event and Pittsburgh musicians always come through in the clutch, not to mention help this time around from First Flight Records. “The response of interest and involvement was out pouring! It really is an honor to have such support from the local music scene,” says Caywood.
“Fans, friends, family, peers, all of the above can expect to be warmly welcomed and entertained by 15+ Pittsburgh local musicians, performing holiday tunes and a few originals! They can also expect to eat from a wonderfully prepared menu! Eggnog French Toast, Salmon Lox and more! As well as a proud feeling for supporting the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank! A real treat as we celebrate the end of this year,” continues Caywood.
The event is free to attend with varying prices for different menu items. Food is served at 10am with music beginning at 10:30. It is strongly encouraged to bring canned goods and dried foods for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. “The more ther merrier in this holiday season!” says Caywood.
“Based on the outpouring support, we are already in the works to create a Valentines Day Acoustic Brunch! So this will stay a fixture in Pittsburgh. As long as the support for the event continues, no reason to throw in the towel,” he adds in.
