Monday nights are my most unfavorable day of the week. However this Monday night did not suck. We Came As Romans brought their tour to Pittsburgh at Altar bar and had four openers with them. The first opener was Pittsburgh natives Arcane Haven. They were quite the professionals on stage and if you didn’t get to the show in time to see them they are playing next month at Black Forge in Pittsburgh.

Next was the band Sworn In from Illinois. They are out supporting their sophomore album. After the “Road to Bands vs. Food” tour wraps up in a few days with Sworn In opening for We Came As Romans, they will then go on to support Atreyu for their 10th anniversary tour.

Wilson from Detroit, Michigan were next supporting We Came As Romans on “Road to Bands vs. food” (I’m not sure what that exactly means). Wilson will be at Rock on the Range in May which is a music festival that I look forward to every year as I am a big Sirius XM Octane listener.

I had never gotten the opportunity to see Miss May I live before. Miss May I is supporting their fifth studio album “Deathless” and while the moshing started early on in the night it was definitely was at a high during Miss May I’s set. I was lucky to get a good spot and watch all of the excitement and action.

Finally it was time for We Came As Romans. I enjoy a band with two vocalists, this one having a clean vocalist and the other being unclean vocals. I also personally like fuller bands, those with five members or more. It’s like watching a ping-pong ball on stage. The crowd surfing started again nearly at the end of the first song We Came As Romans played. While I felt and appreciated the excitement it was not good for a photographer up front so I quickly got out of the way. We Came As Romans are supporting their fourth studio album which is their self-titled album. I recommend downloading the track “Fade Away.”
